On 2 February 2010 the FAO Representative Office in Beijing has organized a briefing   to inform on “Dzud” situation in Mongolia (See file “Mongolia Dzud2010”) and emergency aid action being taken by countries and multinational agencies, and to attract possible new  aid to herders.   

            The briefing was attended by representatives of multinational agencies and diplomats from mostly European donor nations. Mongolian Ambassador Ts. Sukhbaatar participated in the briefing; explained what the term “dzud” is about and answered some questions.
